Das stapeln von Plastikstühlen zu hohen Stapeln ist für wahr eine hohe Kunst. Ein dutzend weiße Stühle, ein Bezug für die Seite und eine Lampe mit ordentlich Power und fertig ist die „Brian Jungen Show“, des kanadischen Künstlers, die derzeit in Vancouver zu sehen ist. Noch höher – und bunter – ist die Plastik (hier past die Übersetzung wie Arsch auf Eimer) von Maurice Sánchez und seinen KollegInnen aus der Dominikanischen Republik, der Jens von functionalfate.org ein paar Bilder für dessen Monobloc-Blog zur Verfügung gestellt hat, wie etwa dieses:

our work tries to capture the dominican republic, the dominicans and what they do. plastic chairs are very popular in the dominican republic, they’re everywhere, they have taken over the traditional dominican wood chair. they’re usually found stacked in smaller groups on colmados (a dominican bodega or shop and now the center of social life in the country).
we just stacked a big pile and played with the colors to create an almost candy like image and another shape is created. we called the piece “la plastica dominicana” wich translates to english as “dominican fine art”. plastic in spanish also means fine, as in fine arts.

Jens ist absolut recht zu geben, wenn er schreibt, dass dies wohl eines der schönsten aus Monoblocstühlen erstellten Kunstwerke ist.
